Metronome Magazine, December 2018

The Lower Level CD was chosen one of Metronome Magazine's Top 5 for December 2018.  Following is the included CD mini-review:

Singer-guitarist Larry Lusignan [L] and singer-keyboardist Mark Longo [M] lead the L&M Rhythm Kings on an uplifting excursion of uptown swing, steamy blues, funky shuffles, a salsa rhythm, and a healthy dose of roadhouse blues on the band's new album "The Lower Level".

Joined by bandmates Michael "Squid" Rush on bass, vocals, & songwriting, and drummer Glenn Rogers, this taut quartet are as musically entertaining as any act working in the Northeast region.

Guest players Chris Vachon on lead guitar (who also recorded, mixed, mastered & produced the CD), John Loud on congas and hand percussion and Ronnie Earl on lead guitar, all weigh in with their respective contributions to an already respectable record.  Favored songs include: the swinging album opener "Meadow Lounge," the jazzy jump & jive of the album's title track "The Lower Level," the shimmering "Big Wheeled Bonneville," the island infused "Smoke," the sizzling fretboard/keyboard workout of "Cookin' In Groveland," and the Booker T inspired "Hot Coals."  Good stuff!  [B.M.O.]
